The Tune' is a lovely allegory, balanced beautifully with lightness and humor, yet sharing key truths with clarity and simplicity. The underlying themes weaved into the story are twofold. First, there is always joy within every moment. And second, we are but heavenly souls having an earthly experience.
Details
'The Tune' is set in a heavenly 'airport', with the key character (Herbie) preparing for his flight to the physical realm. Feeling a little uncertain of the trip, Herbie asks to see the pilot, and their fascinating conversation results. Amongst other reasons, Herbie wonders why he would ever want to leave the 'deliciously yummy' melody (The Tune) and head to the earth. What follows is the wonderful discovery that the tune can, of course, be heard in the physical world. But Herbie learns infinitely more than this. With thanks to the gentle guidance of the pilot, Herbie learns how to listen out for the tune, but more importantly, that he is part of the tune and it wouldn't be the same without him.
