Tourmaline is a beautiful gemstone most commonly black, but can range from brown, violet, green, pink, or in a dual-colored pink and green variety of the mineral Cyclosilicate. Tourmaline is the hardest gemstone with a Mohs index of 7-7.5 and specific gravity of 3.06. It is mined in India and a few other countries. It is a highly protective stone.
